This collection is kind of a disappointment. While many of the essays are spectacular, they are not original in that they can be found in many similar anthologies. I would have rated this book higher since as a collection it is a smooth read, but, unfortunately, some essays and the general format are really out of place. The Canadian "edge" the editors chose to go along with is not on the same level of quality as the more classic material and, honestly, better options of Canadian writing are available. This anthology is also way to short - its probably best to read another, more complete, one.
