I was initially going to rate 3 stars but decided to go with 4 because I think this book serves the intended audience very well. Yes, a story of statements of terms of parental endearment isn’t the most exciting for adults. But this is just perfect for babies. The book is filled with bright colors and happy, adorable food with little smiling faces. Faces are huge for babies, as are connections with care givers. This book combines both, as it can be read and incorporated into the parent child bond so well, with the terms carried over from/into real life, read in loving tones, held closely. It just hits perfectly for a first book to share with a baby. My daughter is almost four and still loves to read this one from time to time!

Another wonderfully adorable board book from Joyce Wan! This one also has great colors and is super adorable. It is full of pet names next to illustrations such as "My Sweet Pea". This would make a wonderful baby gift!

D'awwww. Another adorable board book from Joyce Wan that I want to go straight out and give to a baby or sweetheart. Lovely use of color, pattern, font, embossing, and spot gloss.

My two-year-old and I both have this memorized, and LOVE it. Good design, clever text, and adorable illustrations.

Food terms of endearment for little ones, read by their loving caregiver. Cute illustrations, but no story line. It's a statement book: "You are my ... " fill in the foodie blank. I checked it out for a cupcake storytime, but it was not a good fit.
