it has been ages since i read this book, and i want to reread it to give a more updated review, but i remember a great narrative of a girl in the world who is dealing with constant loss and grief and is just trying to find a place for herself (tw for self-harm, mentions of underage sex work, houselessness, abusive relationships)

TW: talk of self-harming tendencies, spoilers
Beautiful and deep. Each word in this book is perfectly real, and it all feels as though it could exist here but also that it is a lesson for all. Charlie’s SH tendencies gives fabulous insight into the human mind and how to help those who have struggled in the past. From author (aspiring) to author, Ms. Glasgow, this book is absolutely amazing. I’ve read it so many times, and will never stop. Thank you!

this book was so heavy that i literally got into a depressing episode while reading it. i didn’t really read the trigger warnings so i didn’t think it would really hit me that much, but it absolutely fucking did. charlie made me realize i need to step up my game on being grateful for what i have. literally.
it was both interesting and sad, of course, to watch her get in and out of her evil cycle. but to watch her realize her self worth and everything was as ellie would say “fucking angelic”.
would totally recommend, however please do read the trigger warnings
