Siblings best friend romances always hit right for me, especially when it's mutual pining. And this has it in groves. Were mistakes made? Yes. Did Samson run off and set their relationship back? Absolutely. But when he got determined to make Stella his, he was not to be stopped. Loved the energy in this. I had a wee bit of an issue with Stella acting too much like a child, but I got it. Samson and Stella were giving me very much endgame energy and I loved how there wasn't too much backlash when Orion found out. I would really like to read his story, actually. High recommend. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

First thing I have to say is that I am LIVING for the fact that Dirty Little Secret coincides with Sweet Little Nothing. So I guess a little bit of a warning if you haven’t read Sweet Little Nothing, you will get very minor spoilers for it within Dirty Little Secret. With that being said, I could not put this book down once I started and I am so in love with Samson. Even if he pulled that bone headed moment, his intentions were good and pure. Stella, even at a young age, knew who she wanted but there are times she is very naive but that is typical of a girl her age. She brings the angst full tilt. The connection, the banter, the sizzle between these two was utterly amazing. There are a lot of emotional and heartfelt moments that will make your heart ache and swoon at the same time. Stella and Samson were made for each other in every way though and this book was magic!

This blurb had me sold- brother’s best friend, age gap- YUM YUM YUM. This is my catnip, and I was excited to dig into the work of LK Farlow. And, there’s a lot I enjoyed about this story. We’ve got a little bit of the forbidden, a big ole heartbreak to overcome, and lots of longing and sexual tension- and a sweet romance at the core.

Stella has been in love with Samson, her brother’s bestie, for a while- but that pesky age gap between them, and his relationship with her brother, just keep getting in the way. SO they decide that on her 18th birthday they will finally dive into a relationship, regardless of the stakes, but when her birthday comes around, Samson doesn’t keep his end of the deal, breaking her heart. Of course, time passes, and Samson realizes the depth of his mistake, a choice he made out of his own baggage and insecurities. And he decides to correct his mistake -if Stella still has it in her heart to forgive him for the heartbreak he caused.

While I think Samson’s decisions felt a bit cliche and frustrating, he won me over quickly. His groveling and repentance was satisfying- and I forgave him quickly for being human, and making a mistake out of fear and insecurity. And I love how Stella made him work for it- showing her own growth in the time that they were apart, recognizing what she deserves. Their chemistry was sweet, thought I would have loved to see them get a bit deeper in their connection, evolve a bit more once they start to explore their togetherness, but all in all, it was a sweet and swoony read. WIll be excited to check out more from LK Farlow- she seems to bring a real focus and sincerity to her stories.

Sweet Little Nothing was a hard read for me. It wasn’t supposed to be an easy read and it’s a great book but it was incredibly emotional. Dirty Little Secret is the perfect follow up to the emotional upheaval of Sweet Little Nothing. A story of lovers bound from the beginning who’s timing is always off until it isn’t. These two have such a beautiful love story. Every time Kate would post a teaser I would jump to read it, because I fell in love with this couple in Sweet Little Nothing. The story we received was absolutely worth the wait and I can’t wait to see what Kate does next.

Stella has been in love with her brothers best friend as long as she’s known him, and she’ll do whatever it takes to convince him they’re meant to be together, age difference be damned.

Sampson has always had a soft spot for Stella, but when she confesses her feelings for him, he realizes just how much he cares for her. Not willing to break the law to be with her, he insists they wait until she’s 18 to truly be together. When that 18th birthday comes, both of their lives change forever.

This is a couple I could read side stories about into infinity. Like how was Christmas? What’s your next birthday like? What does Sampson do for Stella’s graduation? I love the two of them so very much and to be honest I’ve already reread the book once since receiving it. Dirty Little Secret is a five star read and one you won’t want to miss.

I've read a lot of books by this author and this reads like an earlier work. The storyline is a bit simplistic and the characters aren't as well-developed as in some books. But it is still an enjoyable read and a good start for the series. The next book (Orion's story) is more what I'm accustomed to from this author.

The message is clear that they've known each other forever and were always meant to be together. The one pet peeve I have is that there is a lot of focus on the fact that Stella waited for Samson, but there is zero discussion of whether he waited for her while supposedly being in love with her while waiting for her to grow up. He never mentions if he was with anyone else, though it is implied in some places. Since there was so much focus on her, it would have rounded out the story to know both sides of it, especially since it was a dual-POV book. I don't think it needs to change the story if he didn't wait, but it would round it out and create more of a balance in how the male and female character were portrayed.

Lord mercy! I have been looking forward to these two since meeting them in Sweet Little Nothing and Miss Kate did not disappoint. If you're a fan of an angsty, brother’s best friend, age gap then look no further. Dirty Little Secret has all that and then some for you. Samson and Stella are so wonderful together. It’s eye opening getting to see their past and how they came to be where they are present day in Sweet Little Nothing. We see just how deeply intertwined the two of them are and how long they’ve loved and cared for one another. It’s all very sweet and Samson is just so darn swoony. Dirty Little Secret can be read as a standalone but I personally recommend reading Sweet Little Nothing before or after. It follows Stella’s roommate, Emmy and will help shed some more light on some situations that occur in Samson and Stella’s book.

This is the first of LK Farlow’s books I have read. It’s a nice romantic book with some steamy scenes. A good light hearted read.

The story is told in dual perspectives, in the beginning we are told Stella and Samson’s story of when they first meet when they were little. The story then comes to the present day and evolves from there.

Stella was 8 when she first met Samson, she was climbing a tree her brother said she couldn’t climb and when her brother and his friend came to find her, they told her to get down, unfortunately she was stuck and ended up falling out of the tree. Samson was there when she woke up looking after her. From there on in Stella developed a connection with Samson, she was besotted with him. Although she kept getting the impression from Samson that he just thought she was his best friends little sister.
Stella is sweet, caring and innocent all until something happens and she becomes a women who is carefree and wild. She wants to live her life and become a teacher just like her mom did. Only, could her past become her present?

Samson moved to the area after his parents died in a car crash. He went into foster care and then met the Cartwright family. They would invite him around all the time, and when he best friend would be busy with some girl, Samson would hang out with Stella. Although, he started to get the impression that she liked him a lot more than just friends. But she was too young for him. When she was 15 she asked him to be her first kiss, would he do that to his best friend? Break bro code with Stella? When there relationship changes and something happens which makes everything go wrong. What is the future for Samson now? Has he ruined everything?

Thank you for sending me this ARC.

What a perfect story! Stella and Samson 's story is one of a kind, I couldn't get enough !! This is my first story from L.k. Farlow and I can honestly say I will be reading more! Although this is out of the normal for what I read, I was sucked in from page one.
