The ending felt kind of anticlimactic. I really wanted to like it but everything went really fast and the way Rowan was finished just didn't feel right. I get that his death was supposed to be out of spite by taking away the possibility of his powers being used by the crown but it happened so fast I feel like his character wouldn't have done that. That being said there's no way maxim would have been able to straight up beat an antari in single combat like that so I see why that was a good option for his win instead but I feel like there could have been more buildup to the situation that lead to his decision, more of a monologue or something. I like the rest of the series, I was with all of it till the end there but I still enjoyed the story

I did enjoy these comics, the art is very beautiful. I also have a very very strong desire for more books in this world and to reread the original series.

What a great ending to this comic series! I freaking loved it. It was such a fantastic addition to the Shades of Magic world. I hope there’s more.

This was a great ending to the graphic novel series, and I love how everything was resolved. While I wish there was more to Maxim's story, I'm still pleased with this prequel graphic novel series.
