Whoa.. and I thought Poe's poems are emo. No seriously there were just soooo many feals in those pages. But in comparison to Poe these ones didn't sound neither melodramatic nor fake. Dynamic, bold and ffs so illustrative. I definitely should learn french just to read more in original.

This dirty birdy is at his best when he's praising Satan.

Despite some poems being mandatory coursework for me I happily read through this whole collection. The tenderness and brutality combined with beauty and decay is something I find touching and heartfelt. His critique of the urbanisation of humanity is something we can still discuss to this day nearly two hundred years later.

Jak mám ve zvyku, vypsala bych sem nějakou ultraboží pasáž. Jenže to bych musela přepsat celou sbírku. ♥
