Not gonna lie this would have been 4 stars without the Nox stuff. I want the entire series to be Nox centric. Don't even care about the other bonds at this point because I've been starved for three books

4.5
I've waited a long time for this, and I couldn't help myself, I finished it in a day. it was better than the last one but not as funny as the first two books.
I'm glad that the cliff from last book was handled quickly and like I thought and hope it would.
I was so happy for this ending. it had a bit of a plot twist but not all that shocking to me.
now we have to wait until September for the next one

Every book in the series ends with a cliffhanger and this one is no exception!

I am so glad Nox finally got his redemption arc! He has always been one of my favorites and I knew that he would end up being one of the most protective. Maybe even fall the hardest in the end.

Holy cow…

This lead up to the last book was meant to kill us, right? So good! There are no other words for the reveals in this one. More pieces are falling into place. Our bonded group has their allies and those willing to fight on their side against the resistance. (Can I say I have some favorite family members?) For once the deck seems stacked in their favor. But there are still some mysteries and enemies that are unknown to them. I can’t wait for the final showdown and the endgame when all will finally be revealed… There’s still no other word but exceptional for this series. I’m absolutely hooked!

While I enjoyed this book, I do think the wow-factor is starting to get lost on me. The void-eyes are a great topic in this book, and while I love it - I'm also questioning it.

Did North's father have the void eyes? Or did he just have the shadow-beings as an ability? If he had the abilities, then what makes North extra powerful? Genuinely, what makes North's ability different from his father's? I don't know why it has taken me this many books to have that question, but now that we know more about the void-eyes/bonds I find myself questioning it.

By the end of the book, I feel like there was nothing crazy that happened. Yes, some unfortunate (and questionably sad) things happen. Yes, we learn more about the "gods." But really, it's just a set up for the ending. I'm curious how the last of them will be altered, and I really am excited to see how the book will end!
