It took some time for me to get into this book. The pacing was a bit slow initially but once we got the ball rolling the story came together beautifully. I enjoyed both Grey and Talya learning that love doesn’t have to result in you losing yourself but with the right person it adds to your life. The ending was a little muddled with the scheming and conspiring by a certain character but it was quickly resolved so that was good. I do wish we saw more of our main characters together in their relationship. They, especially Natalya, spent so much time “disliking” each other’s, it felt like we didn’t get enough time to see them happy and in love.
Overall a fairly good book, loved our FMC! She was strong, witty, funny and willing to admit when she was wrong. Grey was also delightful.

I first met Cynthia Wright's NATALYA in my trade paperback copy, which I was very excited about because I was able to get a matching copy of her mother's story, CAROLINE. (These little details are very important to us obsessive readers.) Now I get to revisit Natalya Beauvisage in her spiffy new ebook format as HER DANGEROUS VISCOUNT. And yes, Grey St. James is dangerous.

Twenty-six year-old Natalya, daughter of Alec and Caro Beauvisage, has been living in France for the past six years as an authoress in her Uncle Nicholai's Chateau du Soleil. While she loves France and loves writing, she is starting to miss her family and home in Philadelphia. Grey St. James has escaped from prison and makes his way to Chateau du Soleil for assistance in getting back to England. Since Grey held Natalya at knife point during their first meeting, needless to say she is not fond of him. But it seems that they can help each other get to England and then go on to Philadelphia.

As to be expected, Cynthia Wright blends humor and meticulous details into the story. This historical period is the War of 1812/Napoleonic Wars and the reader gets a strong feeling of time and place. Whether it is your first read or your fifth, HER DANGEROUS VISCOUNT is an engrossing story, giving you a chance to revisit old friends from other Rakes and Rebels books and cheer on Natalya and Gray.

It took me weeks to finish this book I disliked it so much. The dialogue was abysmal, the point of view was disjointed, the historical and cultural accuracy for what society would have allowed back then was way off of the mark. Furthermore than plot was not cohesive and the characters were not likable.

this is the first book in awhile that has pulled me and hours fly by. I loved that it had traveling in it, but it did not drag out and was an adventure still. You have to love her whole family because they are so open about everything and can shock you at any moment. I was not expecting the man that was with his wife to be who he was or for her to act the way she did. I was even shocked at the end by who showed up.

Yet again, all I can say is... eh. What was Natalya's deal? She just hated Grey for absolutely no reason.

This is the second Wright book I started but couldn't stomach to finish. I think I just don't like her style or writing. Also? I hated Natalya and Grey seemed meh and inconsistent.

Plus, the constant name dropping of previous couples in the family made me think that Wright was just trying to drum up business for her previous books.

Booo. Will not be reading any more of her books.
