The more I read these books the more I like them. Guess thats what I get for making the mistake of reading the 5th or 6th one before the rest. I have always been a fan of spy type novels but with the twist of Alex being a 14 year old adds something new. I really like them.

In the second Alex Rider book, Alex has only been given a few days to recover from his last mission. Already MI6 is knocking on his door with a delicate assignment that only a teenage boy can accomplish. What are the odds? Still, Alex is bored and almost grateful for the assignment so he agrees. Posing as a rich man's son, Alex infiltrates an exclusive boys school in the French Alps and meets the sinister Dr. Grief.
This series is definitely playing to the genere stereotypes and while at times the irony is amusing, in this second book it feels too much like a characticture rather than a novel. Alex's antics are so wild that the book has abandoned even the hint of plausibility. It was disappointing and I'm unlikely to read anymore in the series.
