I did find the symbolism somewhat heavy handed but it was still very effective. It was a good read, I especially enjoyed the pov of the haunted house itself.

Brutal, moving, darkly funny, perversely sexy. Devastation and what lies beyond it.

This book is not for the faint-hearted. It's a story of a racist, xenophobic, hateful house representing the racist, xenophobic, hateful history of a country with racist, xenophobic, hateful people as the main characters. And FUCK, it does mess you up.

Dedication is forcing yourself through all 260 pages, foolishness or faith is thinking at the end there will be a string that connects all the random story threads and tangents together, but ultimately self care is not going back to reread or doing a deep enough read to try and find those points.
Any point that may have been made or that the author was trying to make gets lost is the fractured writing style and disjointed side ramblings. Any possible glory lost to the gore.
