While I liked the premise, I think the way it was executed was a bit too cosy for me.
emotional funny hopeful lighthearted fast-paced

I can imagine myself having read this at a slightly different time and rolling my eyes throughout the whole thing; but I picked it up at the right moment and fucking loved it. For each of the last nine chapters, I thought the book had ended…yet it kept going…but I ate up every last trite life reflection and Natasha Bedingfield “the rest is still unwritten” fortune cookie vibes, and I am somehow a big fan. Bonus points for strong sibling love theme.

If GR had half stars, this would be a 4.5.
I live Matt Haig's nonfic but his fiction has always been a little meh for me. This changed my mind.
I love the combination of MH mixed with fiction here and the thoughts behind the 'what if' moments we all have.
I don't get why this book gets so much hate. I think you'll only get this book if you have been through some form of MH issue/depression.
This may not be 5 stars but it is one of my favourites for this year!
