I continue to enjoy that this story is told from the perspective of dragons rather than humans, though parts of it were a little formulatic. It started to break the formula in books four and five which I appreciated.

The end of book five feels like a complete story arc, and I’m not sure whether I will continue. However, the narrator of the next book is of particular interest to me so there is a high possibility of it.

Great, satisfying ending to the first quintet of the series. The framework of the prophecy and the way this last book dealt with that was unique and meaningful, and allowed the reader in on the twist in a way I haven't seen before.

What a delightful end to the series. Sutherland really knows how to write a cohesive and engrossing story. While this was for a reading level/age group younger than my own, it still kept me flipping the pages.

Sunny was such a refreshing protagonist - she’s a true optimist and full of hope and it’s encouraging to read that being realistic about the world doesn’t mean sacrificing your kindness and joy.

I also appreciated that any deus ex machina felt realistic and supported by the plot…unlike some series…
