This was such a sweet read and Ella & Sloane were such a cute couple. You could see that they had chemistry right from the start, and I loved seeing their relationship develop from coaching staff/player to friends to lovers. The third act break up was something that was obvious, but I did like how they worked everything out with relatively minimum angst.
I also liked the soccer content. I’m not someone that follows soccer unless there’s a bandwagon to hop on, but I appreciated that the soccer content wasn’t overly technical. I don’t need to know how to play the sport I’m reading about in a fictional story, but I do need the be able to get the atmosphere & the feelings from what is written, and I think that Clare Lydon has done this really well - it’s obvious how much of a fan she is. I also loved Sloane’s hunt for some of her family history, and how she got more than she expected & got a tangible link to trailblazing women in soccer.

HATE when the conflict is a result of one of the mc’s hiding something/lying about something that is wholly inconsequential if there was an ounce of communication
