Really enjoyed this collection despite the focus on the core group of X-Men that everyone knows and loves. If you're a fan of the 90s animated series, this is a great book to pick up!

This was pretty much an ok collection of fairy tales with X-Men characters recast in the role of fairy tale characters. I particularly liked "The Peach Boy," and I thought "To Die in Dreams" had a nice poignant touch to it. The tale featuring Rogue seemed to have a nice build up, then seemed rushed to the end. Overall, a nice, quick, entertaining read, but this is a volume to borrow if you can. Nice, but not great. There is a series of Marvel Fairy Tales, and I may try to find others, but I am keeping the expectations light.

Okay, fairy tales these are, but they are X-Men tales only very tangentially. I don't know if I can really be bothered to write an analysis. The New Orleans story was my favorite, even though it took a story in which Rogue & Emma Frost were main characters and somehow made some nigh-nameless (male) detective the hero and main actor in the story.

Enjoyable enough, but skip-able.

I really liked the different art styles in this. The fairy tales were some I have never heard of. I really loved Restless souls and To die in dreams. This is a fun, quick read telling fairy tales from around the world featuring the Xmen characters you know and love.

4 stars for the first story and the general idea of this book. I felt the last two stories were a little weaker, but still. Are there more of these coming? I would read more of these, expanded to other corners of the Marvel Universe. This is a really great way of reframing comic book mythology within the larger context of human storytelling.
