There were anecdotes that were interesting - and I appreciated specific small insights (ie advice vs coaching), but overall I found this to be too focused on the dimension of work, and it didn't even blink in the direction of acknowledging privilege.

Will I go through the exercises listed here? Some, yes. Do you I have the time and resources to conduct hundreds of experience prototypes, no.
informative inspiring lighthearted fast-paced

This was based on careers, so I was not the target audience.

Gives you that productivity self help fizzy brain feeling 😌

I’ve been working through this book and exercises for 6 months with my leadership coach. It’s been incredibly helpful for me as I’m close to being empty nest and considering what path I want to take “for the rest of my career.” I think just reading this book would not be as impactful as slowly making your way through each exercise.

Highly recommend the companion workbook to work through exercises!

Like many career slash self helpy type books, the main point is to go out and do stuff instead of sitting around and complaining about life. (“Prototype” as they say using design language.) The framework is not really unique but the exercises are helpful reminders on what to do when you don’t feel as grounded as you want to be. I appreciated the variety of anecdotes from those who applied their design approach to find happiness.

Very well written and easy to follow examples of the exercises for finding new direction with one's life. Feels like a companion to Marie Kondo's Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up.

My second time reading this book, but the first time doing the accompanying exercises. I still have a lot of prototyping activities to do, but it's time to mark this as read. There are so many great tactics and ideas in this book, I think anyone can find inspiration to move through a challenging situation in their career and lifestyle. It provides an excellent foundation to revisit time and time again.

There’s still useful advice out there, even if it’s not new.

Not your typical self-help book. Love how it describes building your life as a process not a try and fail.
