Not the best, but not the worst book either. I tend to feel very excited by these books. Like look, a new homework assignment I can try to make Dom do (he won't)! But then, this one just kinda petered out for me. Then when I was done, I tried to remember all the valuable points and yes, there were--but I can't remember them. Maybe I needed a bit more clarity on the to-do's and why that was necessary and less woo woo jargon--or if you're going to give me the woo-woo, do you have any actual Stanford-y data to back up why this stuff works? Anything? Seems like having some sort of data--something that goes beyond fake stories from fictional designers doesn't really speak to me. And maybe they were real people, but they read so fake that I couldn't seem to relate to anyone. And then that hard sell to buy more of this book for your friends and make a team where you talk about the book and here's the link as the very last sentence. That just made me gag a little. I think this book has some great insights, valuable life lessons. It just need to feel a bit more tangible and relatable and not like a pyramid scheme in the making.

Some really great recommendations for those looking to explore new paths!

Had a few good quotes but in the end wasn't what I expected or wanted it to be. I ended up skimming. Most of the examples were also super hard to connect to what they were ACTUALLY talking about.

Perf way to start the new year!

I liked the concept and I liked maybe the first half of the book. The second half felt like a stretch and kind of led with the messaging that unless your life is happy then it’s not fulfilling, worthwhile, etc.

This book is probably better suited for someone unhappy in their career and looking for insight into changing their careers, starting over, or entering the job force for the first time.

It was okay but not for me.

I am a "self-help"/"design your life"/"thought work" junkie, but this wasn't my style. It read like a technical guide for me, rather than the usual warm and fuzzy I go for when thinking about improvement. I imagine it might be just perfect for someone who doesn't like the standard format for such ideas. The ideas are good, but it's not at the top of my list; although, I believe it has an audience. Skimmed it, but didn't finish.
