Some of these were really great. I particularly liked:
- Talk Show
- Melancholia
- The Point of the Needle

In its best moments, I liked how the images developed with an ominous dream logic. As real as the poems' environmental pessimism is, it felt a bit obvious.

I picked up this book after reading Ars Poetica (cocoons) but unfortunately the poetic style Levin uses in this book is very different. There are a few shorter poems that I enjoyed, but overall the style just wasn't for me.

Apocalyptic and deeply unsettling, but simultaneously so satisfying to read.

shout out to the poem 'melancholia' that makes direct reference to the eponymous lars von trier film, which was mesmerizing and beautiful but also something i kind of hated, kind of like this book
