After reading [b:The Star-Touched Queen|25203675|The Star-Touched Queen (The Star-Touched Queen, #1)|Roshani Chokshi|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1446058438l/25203675._SY75_.jpg|44916095], I was very hesitant to pick up anything else by Chokshi. I wasn't a fan of her writing or the main character or really anything in that book aside from the talking horse.

But this was so much better! Strong characters, fleshed out setting, witty banter, and mystery! I'm super excited for the next installment in this series.

As someone who read Six of Crows first - this book very much reminded me of it. Just by the set up. The characters are vastly different though and I really enjoyed this book. I was confused for a while but after I started pieces things together - I began to enjoy it. All the characters are amazing and I definitely hated that one chapter towards the end with a certain spider loving boy.

"Gdziekolwiek spojrzał, otaczały go pozłacane wilki. Z jakiegoś powodu poczuł się jak w domu. Wilki były wszędzie. W polityce, na tronach, w łóżkach. Ostrzyły sobie zęby na historii i napychały brzuchy na wojnach. Nie żeby Sèverin miał o to do nich pretensje - po prostu, jak inne wilki, chciał mieć w tym swój udział."



Mogę powiedzieć o tej książce na prawdę same dobrze rzeczy. Zarówno postacie w niej przestawione, jak i fabuła wciągnęły mnie do reszty. Jestem pozytywnie zaskoczona tempem w jakim pochłonęłam książkę oraz tym jak bardzo byłam na niej skupiona (zwłaszcza biorąc pod uwagę problemy jakich często doświadczam czytając). Nie miałam tak od bardzo dawno i już samo to mówi o tym, że jest to wyjątkowa pozycja. Sięgnę po kolejne części tak szybko jak tylko będę w stanie. Zdecydowanie nie mogę się doczekać, żeby poznać dalsze losy, już moich ukochanych, bohaterów.

4.5 stars that I'm almost tempted to round up because it's been AGES since I genuinely enjoyed a YA Fantasy novel! Upon starting, [b:The Gilded Wolves|39863498|The Gilded Wolves (The Gilded Wolves, #1)|Roshani Chokshi|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1525714353l/39863498._SY75_.jpg|53547018] promised me a lovable set of diverse characters, a compelling plot combined with fascinating mythology and wow, it sure delivered. I fell in love with every one of [a:Roshani Chokshi|13695109|Roshani Chokshi|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1544538355p2/13695109.jpg]'s words and I cannot wait to dive into this world again. Truly a blessing. RTC.

PS. As a Montmartre offspring, I couldn't help but think about the day when I learned that my Monoprix - on Bld de Clichy - used to be that particular cabaret :
