Book 2 was good and continues a great early reader chapter book series for my 7 year old. We read it at night before bedtime, and it has pithy short chapters that always end with a little cliffhanger to keep him wanting more. I'm looking forward to book 3.

I decided to give the second book in this series a try even after the dissapointment of the first, it wasnt as bad but still not great. In this book we get to learn how the school became alive. The writing was still a little disjointed but much better than the first.

This is such a fun beginning reader series for those young readers who want the "scary" stories but might be a little young for anything made for the middle grade audience. This one was even more exciting than the first in the series. I do like that the ending hints at more adventures for the trio of friends. Great for 1st to 3rd graders in my opinion.

The school is trying to kill them. No, seriously, it is! Once again Sam and his friends need to save the day but first they need to save Lucy. The locker might have eaten her. Filled with lots of action and you learn a lot more about the school, this was a fun read. Great book for kids just starting to read chapter books. Highly recommend this series.

My students (3rd graders) love this series for read aloud! The plot, word choice, and vocabulary allow for some dramatic readings which has leaked over into expression in their own fluency. Tons of fun!
