I am kind of finding the whole height difference thing kind of blown out of proportion. Is it really that big of a deal in Japan? Mind you, I'm a white, American girl who has been 5'9'' since about 7th or 8th grade and I was always towering over the boys...and other girls in my class. Still tower over some of them.

Over all, the artwork is pretty solid but the plot is a bit ridiculous. But, I'm a sucker for crappy teen romance, so I'll keep reading it anyway.

Over the top and goofy but also somehow managed to hit the right emotional notes most times. Mixed feelings on how Seiko’s character is handled in the series - love the support she gets from her friends (most of them) but don’t love a lot of assumptions made.

I watched the anime of this manga and absolutely adored it. Bc i couldn’t get enough I started the manga and it’s even better than expected! I love RISA

I’ve seen clips of the anime years ago but never go around to watching it. I managed to find a copy of volume 1 at my local library and now I know what I’ve been missing out. The banter between Otani and Rosa literally makes this book. I’m definitely continuing this series and will give the anime a watch

3,5 stars.

Risa Koizumi is 172 cm, and Atsushi Otani is 159 cm tall. Both getting insecure toward their height, yet they're always being paired as a comedy duo. And when they're used to each other, they're slowly falling in love. But how more than 10 cm differences would work on them?

I just finished reading this now. I dropped it when I first read it back in 2005, because I still couldn't get the idea of 'a taller girlfriend' at that time. Yah, I had my narrow-minded time, too. But now, when I'm a bit older and started to open my mind into new perspective, I find this story is actually quite good. It kinda tear down the patriarch believe that boys should be taller than the girls because the boys need to protect their girl, etc. Kinda, I said, because when I read it, though some of the perspectives changing, there are still many aspect that went to majority (or patriarch) beliefs, moreover toward the gender role of teenage boys and girls.

But anyway, this story is quite a mind opener. I like it.
