This is a really challenging read, especially if you’ve experienced abuse from a narcissist.

The author does a terrific job of highlighting the subtle communication and degradation tactics used by these individuals. You find yourself really rooting for the main character too.

The setting is well presented and the Scottish highlands truly feel like a prison.

There’s some minor frustrations in regard to the actions that the main character takes but they are understandable given the trauma that Mary is experiencing.

Overall, a very well written and believable thriller.
