While I can see why not every Constant Reader might like this particular book, I very much did. It is a not an easy read; a story rife with sadness, anger, loss, and generally uncomfortable emotions.
…[B]y then she's lost in the land of sleep and he is too, and when they go there they never go together, and she is afraid that is also a preview of death, a place where there may be dreams but never love, never home, never a hand to hold yours when squadrons of birds flock across the burnt-orange sun at the close of the day.

Didn’t care for the writing in this one & too slow to vampire my attention
Minor: Sexism
Stupid descriptions of a woman’s body but that’s nothing new for King
I just couldn't finish it. I didn't care much for the story, the plot, or the characters. It's not poorly written (It's King after all), but it just wasn't my bag.

It was described as not being a horror novel but it was pretty creepy.

I love Stephen King, however this one was a little more graphic than Bag of Bones. Good story.
I wanted to like this, but I think this is another one of those books that's meant for an adult who is much, much, much more adulty than I am. The idea of a world where ideas come from is great, but most of this book was spent in...Maine. Maybe I'm outgrowing Stephen King. I kept coming back to the thought that anyone playing a drinking game where you drink whenever Stephen King mentions breasts is going to destroy their liver.
The pacing was unbearably slow in the front half, and okay in the back half, but not the best. I just feel like there wasn't enough of Boo'ya Moon. It could have been much, much, much more developed than it was. I also think Amanda was the only decent character there. Her role in this is the only reason this gets a second star. Scott was okay. I honestly think Lisey was boring and the relationship between Scott and Amanda was more interesting than the one between him and Lisey. Always gotta fall back on monogamy, eh, Steve? There was just so much wasted potential here.
