SPOILER ALERT! If you haven’t read the first two books in the series, Immortal Beloved and Darkness Falls, Stop! I don’t want to ruin a great series for you.

“Ancient evil. How odd that it actually exists. But it does.”

It has been one month since that terrible night in Boston with Incy. Nastasya is back at River’s Edge trying to put the shattered pieces of her life back together. Between unlocking the secrets of her family’s magickal history and shamelessly flirting with with the incredibly hot Viking raider Reyn, Nas discovers that she alone has the power to convert her bad girl persona into becoming a better person. Just as she begins her transformation, word comes that someone is killing immortals around the world and Nastasya and her friends at River’s Edge may be next.

Soon River’s older brother, Ottavio, the head of the Genoa house, arrives and voices his suspicions about Nastasya. He is soon followed by the remaining brothers; Daniel, Joshua and Roberto. It is obvious that Joshua and Reyn would like to tear each others throats out and Nas realizes that Roberto is a face from her past. Whenit becomes apparent that whoever is targeting the immortals has an inside connection at River’s Edge, Nastasya finds it in herself to fight back. But with Reyn doggedly pursing her, can she also protect her heart?

Told once again from Nastasya’s snarky point of view, long simmering questions are answered in this conclusion to the series.

Sad with the fumbling almost sex. Smut in my YA novel. Unhappy me.

I enjoyed this trilogy but was disappointed in this last book. Nastashya's character failed to develop as the story called for. She continued to have panic attacks over very small things, and I wanted her to be stronger and more willing to fight for the life she'd started to create. The battle against evil forces occurred at the very end of the story and seemed extremely rushed. The villain was revealed and then immediately sent off to recover while everyone else suddenly lived happily ever after. Again, this was a great story but the ending of Eternally Yours just didn't live up to my expectations.

Actually it was more than amazing. I can't stand it how much I loved it. However because of school it took me some days to finish it, because I have exams right now.

During the reading proces I wrote down little notes about what I wanted to say in my review. So I start with the first point. When Ottavio came I was really worried about Nastasya. I didn't want her to feel lost again and friendless. So I was really happy that Lorenz said that the only bad thing Nasty did was her clothes. I mean he is this hot italian boy with a great fashion check in his head and two hundered and whatever children. I don't know what's so bad about the fact having so much children.. although it's much for his age and because of the fact he never had been a father for them. So yeah it's actually bad. I hope for him he doesn't have to come back to rehab but I think he was a good person in River's Edge and I hope that he is okay. I don't think it's bad that he went away for a save heaven. Some people know when to fly and maybe he thought that he would be a pain in the ass to hang around there and distract people.

Okay next point on my notes was Incy. I still don't know what I think about it. I mean it was goddamnit freaking Incy his head in the package. I know he has been bad lately with that miss Edna stuff and the master but I mean they were bread 'n butter in the beginning. I think before he got al this dark things around him that he was nice. He sounded nice before the cabbie stuff. Same with Daniel. I think it would really hurt to be the midd kid that never was great in anything. You are not the first like Ottavio, you are not as beautiful as Roberto or as strong and whatever as Joshua and you've got this sister who is first very strong and smart and later both things and very good. I feel so sorry for River to endure that. She lost Ottavio and Roberto for good and I just hope Daniel will be okay and turn back to being an annoying on money fixed person.

Nastasya says somewhere at the end of the book that everybody should have a River because that would take a way a lot of therapy and I think that I would love to have a River. I was a bit worried about her at the end that she looked ten years older and lost weight. However I know she is in good hands and I was really happy that Asher would want to marry her. I mean I think they are a lovely couple. I like them both very much. Just as much as I liked Anne and Amy. Solis I didn't like but we all understand why because he was against Nasty and I don't think he has this really good reason because of it. However I didn't wish him death. The moment he looked up because of this save heaven I was kind of angry that he as a teacher wanted to go but right after the death scene of his I think that he knew all that time, that he was not strong enough.

What more do I have to say. I really thought about Nasty her personality and I think it's a bit the same as mine. (Of course I don't have magic and I'm not immortal). HOwever she always thinks bad about herself and because of that she can't actually love Reyn, because you can't love anyone else if you don't love yourself. There are people out there and I can almost include myself that have to take this road and choose everytime again wrong from right. Of course the choices that we have to make are nothing compared to the onces from Nasty but you have those small things. Words you better not say of things you better not do. Don't get me wrong I'm in the small word group. I would never think about killing someone or hurt someone more than with only words.
I don't think about what I say if I'm angry and sometimes I'm to sarcastic that people don't see it as a joke anymore. However Nasty is my inspiration for sarcasm. She became my hero because I love her way of talking to Ottavio. Really good.

I don't know what to say about Ottavio actually. I didn't like him in the beginning because of the way he acted towards Nasty but he was actually only worried and that would be the same for everybody if your beloved sister (or brother) hangs out with someone who might be really dangerous. I wished he survived. He was fun and good. I wished Amy had more change to seduce him because I think that would be a great couple.

The last things I want to note down is that I loved it to see a Dutch sentence in the book. I mean it's indeed the worst phrase ever: It was not my intention. In every possible language. Although the dutch sentence was wrong I didn't care.

I was wondering if someone also figured out that in the beginning when they talk about the accident in Boston, Nasty talks about the death of Katy and Stratton.. I might misunderstood that, however I knew it was Boz.

What did I like best about this book (and the series in general?) I liked the author's pacing. There was nothing rushed, nothing hurried, and as a result I felt like I came to know the characters well. I also really liked Nastaysa's flashbacks- they were interesting and gave the story (and the character) more depth.

This book was a bit disappointing. I liked the whole
Spoiler"we don't know when we're going to be attacked, tense, tense, tense"
aspect... but in the end it wad completely anti climactic?

It was mostly disappointing because I was hoping for this series to end with a bang. It just seems like Tiernan will never be able to live up to the beauty that was the Sweep series. I love the characters in this book, and the happy endings that we got to see for all of them was cute and nice, but still was not good enough.

Oh wow! Wow 5 starts to this wonderful book.
Loved it totally. This was the perfect end to the series. In the first book we are introduced to Nastasya who enter's River's edge to improve and to become a good person , to learn that having dark powers doesn't mean you are bad. You always have the chance to turn good by making right decisions.
second book told how has tried to improve and the third book is all about how she comes to realization that she can't know more run away and to finally settle down. Action starts quite late in the book but its ok. I loved that the author showed more romance between Nastasya and Reyn . I missed that a lot in last two.

Oh this series. I have read it from the beginning and trusted Cate Tiernan to the end. The first book started off slow for my taste, the second book was anything but the typical middle child, and this book brought everything together. (I was a history major so that may have something to do with it.) This book is heavy in the history and the past of Nastasya, which I found to be very interesting. Everything begins to make sense in this book. Things that may have been mentioned in the first book in passing all makes sense now. It is a testament to Tiernan and her writing and how the smallest of statements means something.

In the brief recap that we are given we are reminded that Nastasya is still her same snarky self who hates and trusts no one but the select few that are her inner circle. We are also reminded who the bad guys are that we have followed through this entire series. With flashbacks to the historical setting there is never a dull moment in this book or this series.

Through Tiernan’s writing of flashbacks with a tie to Nastasya’s past, the reader understands why she is the way that she is. Nastasya’s love interest in the book is still the lovely Reyn. Reyn, who is part raider with a dash of bad boy and hotness He takes no shit from her and makes her become a stronger person, a stronger woman. Often women characters are written to be meek and submissive, and while Nastaya isn’t what one would call meek or submissive, she has her moments that Reyn could let her be without pushing her, but that wouldn’t be Reyn.

I am sad to see this series go. Not only because I enjoy Tiernan’s writing, but because this is a solid series full of humor, action, an awesome mystery, a little bit of angst and of course the romance. My friend pointed out that this isn’t the typical love story, and it isn’t. Which makes it even that better and more memorable.
