I think my beef with this series is I didn't realize it was YA when I started. Too much making out, not nearly enough naked Reyn, etc...

I loved this series. I just wanted a little more at the end!

I absolutely loved the Sweep and Balefire series by Cate. If I recall correctly I thoroughly enjoyed the first two of this trilogy. But this last installment was nothing but disappointment. The book mainly consists on flash backs and back stories from all of the main characters with a little action, mild action, thrown in between. Frankly, I was bored and disappointed. I guessed who the diabolical "master" was around page 200.
Here I was hoping for an awesome conclusion. The perfect ending. *Sigh*wished too much.

I saw someone compare the ending to being better than the Hunger Game Series. LYING. This ending has nothing on the end of MockingJay.

Oh well, Cate is still one of my favorite authors of all time. I'm guessing this was her one time fail. All authors have them.

Review TBA: No real plot and Reyn had so much potential that was missed out on. Also, lots of unresolved questions but it was a solid series and had a cute ending that saved it.

Excellent ending to an excellent trilogy. That's all I'm saying, lest there be spoilers. SORRY.

Some disjointed thoughts about this book:

-I really love Nastasya. She is hilarious and doesn't take herself too seriously. Her struggle to be a better person and her character development are the best things about this series, but some of what was going on with her in this book felt like a step back and was drawn out.

-Nastasya's relationship with Reyn is underdeveloped. I'm also not a Reyn fan. This is completely subjective, and I'm sure it played a huge part in making all the scenes with him not so enjoyable for me.

-Some new characters were introduced. I liked them. They were a good addition and helped create some conflict and change things up. Natasya calling Ottavio Ott amused me to no end.

-I've always found Innocencio interesting and wanted to know more about him. I would've liked to see more of his friendship with Nastasya and get his side of the story. I am happy with the bits we got from Nastasya's memories, but I feel like we never got the full picture.

-The pacing was horrible, but I really liked the plot. The conclusion though rushed was satisfying.

Loved loved loved this whole series, but I really felt like the ending was a little rushed! Still one of my all time favorite series, just because the characters were so witty and likable! Definitely recommend this series!
