Something about Sally Rooney’s stories just doesn’t really click for me. That said, some of her prose — and particularly the way she describes feelings of emptiness and depression — really resonated for me in this book. Also, I listened on audiobook and could listen to Aoife McMahon’s voice for hours.

This book was so raw. I truly think there is no better word to describe it. I also found it to be very heavy. Almost frustrating at points. I wanted to reach through the paged and shake sense into them.
It's the kind of book that's making me think and I really appreciate books that do that. I appreciate having this type of perspective in a novel, where it truly is about Normal People. I really love that. I think this will be a book I think about for a long time.
I've never read anything like this. I loved the dialogue and the depth. Rooney did something great here. Though for the life of me I have no idea how they made it into a TV show.

In the best way possible, I wanted to throw this book at the wall at several points.
