Honestly it's a four point five, but rounded up. Yeah there were a few characters I didn't care for and it was a bit baggy in the middle but really picked up towards the end.

Also I may have slightly over compensated my score to counteract the people who marked down a book about an apocalypse caused by climate change because it dared mention climate change.

I really enjoyed this read . While you could make the excuse that it’s like any other contagion type apocalyptic read similar to that of Stephen King, it does bring new things to the table alluding to those of how those of the far-right would react . If you’re of that Ilk you may not enjoy this read since Wendig does not pull any punches as to his opinion of you . Anyway , thought it was great . Give it a read.

Many twists and turns. Sometimes triggering and extremely uncomfortable but overall it was a great read.

Loved it even more the second time. Wanderers has earned its place among my favorite books, full stop.

If you enjoy a thriller with a sci-fi twist, it's worth the read. I didn't love some of the character development (especially how the author wrote from the female perspective, it just felt strange and at times a bit painful - for example a teenage girl who said "dude" all the time ... ?); but once I got past that, the storyline itself was pretty interesting and I flew through the nearly 800 pages.

This book was The Stand, but you know. Better. And holy heck, was it long. 32 hour audiobook which puts it only ten hours behind The Stand! This one went by much more quickly though, in part because the narrators were fantastic.
