I found this book slow at times, but I understand the author’s reasoning: sometimes in life, it feels slow and uneventful. The Albatross Society was looming and huge, and I felt the resolution to that was too neat and short. The main character was not my favorite…very neurotic and not endearing. I felt like he just suffered for years and years, which I guess was the point, but I wonder if the book could have been better by having someone like Omai show the readers how he lived instead. I enjoyed the social commentary, the observations and musings, though, and do find that the author did a great job at the end of letting you see how time is relative.
