This was a great way to wrap up this trilogy (pretty sure there aren't any more)! I've been intrigued about Lucian and Sloane's backstory since the beginning, and finally getting to see how their past played out, as well as their future, was so satisfying.
I liked seeing the final bits of the mystery/crime elements play out in this installment, and it was cool to see how everything was so interconnected from start to finish. I thought those parts were well done and were woven well into the existing story.
Sloane and Lucian certainly had a complex history, and watching their back and forth turn into something substantial was lovely. There were a few times where Lucian's demanding attitude truly annoyed me (see spoilers), but for the most part, I liked his protectiveness for Sloane and his change of heart once they decide to be together. I think they worked well together, and they kept up their snarky banter up even after they became a couple.
While Lucian, like Knox, was also an a-hole for almost the entire book, his reasoning made more sense and, while in no way justifiable, it was easier to see why he acted the way he did. For some reason, his behavior and attitude didn't irk me the same way Knox did in the first book.
Some of the steamy scenes were a bit overkill at times, but it wasn't too terrible. They could easily be skipped and you'd still get the full effect of the story.
Dude, actually ASK her to marry you. Don't just demand it. That's always been a big pet peeve of mine. Also, I get that you guys were kind of on a time crunch so to speak, but respect her opinion on the matter of how fast your relationship progresses or whether or not you should even be in a relationship. Also...we get it. He's well endowed. You really don't have to bring attention to it as many times as you did. Also, also...HE CLIMBED BACK THROUGH THE WINDOOOOOW! I died.

This book was hands down the best in the trilogy. It’s a book where you’re hating a character then loving them then crying after understanding it all. I loved the ending where you can see where everyone is years and years later, after reading the trilogy it’s the best happily ever after they all can get.
This book is a childhood friends to enemies to lovers. I love the flashbacks we get from when they were teenagers, it adds a lot to the story. Lucian’s story is heartbreaking and make your understanding why he is the way he is. Lucian and Sloane will always be a favorite couple character in this series because of how far he’s came to be the man Sloane needed/wanted. When she was broken and he felt he has lost her for good, he took care of her in a way we’ve never seen him do before. No money or gifts could’ve fixed her during that raw vulnerable moment.
