Rockin the Boat takes 50 iconic revolutionaries and tells their stories in bite-size chapters - everyone from Julius Caesar to Boudica to Martin Luther King Jr (247 BCE to 1960).

I learned some fun facts such as that William Wallace (of Braveheart fame) never wore a kilt because they weren’t worn in Scotland at that time, that George Washington was a land surveyor before he was a military man and president, that France’s final execution by guillotine took place in 1977, and that Queen Liliuokalani of Hawaii wrote the famous song “Aloha Oe”.

I recommend this for my fellow history buffs! It was fun to read about people I’ve never heard of but also to revisit familiar legends.
