Michael J. Sullivan is one of my favorite authors. His stories are engaging. I was actually glad for long airline flights this week so I could sit back and get lost in Age of War. The story is moving and I can see how he is setting up the future books. I can't wait for the next.
This series gets better and better. Mr. Sullivan's writing has grown strong by this book.
I really wasn't expecting the conclusion of this book but I really enjoyed the read overall. Sullivan does a wonderful job with all his characterizations. Every character has such a deep and unique inner life and where you see conflicts or misunderstandings they are totally understandable from the POV of the characters themselves. This tantalizing mystery of Malcolm is the one thing that I think surprised me most of all. I can't wait to finish the rest of this stellar series.
