This is an excellent collection of stories. It was a great read to start Black History Month with.

Both wide-ranging and tightly focused. The stories range from youths to grandmas, philandering men to clandestine lesbian relationships, fantasies to dark realities, all within the confines of one church community. Each story zooms in on intimate moments and thoughts of one or two people, offering up inner monologues, tension between characters, and as the stories all come together a more complete picture emerges. The audio narrator does a fine job of offering distinct voices for each story, and the writer's voice also distinguishes between characters. I really enjoyed listening.

Amazing short story collection, some I enjoyed more than others but I  felt like I've gone away with a piece of so many of these women's stories. My faves are Peach Cobbler and the Physicist one, but for real, each story is great
