It was really much better than the last one. I quite liked the narrative structure which jumped back and forth sometimes between earlier events and the main story, kudos to Nylund being (imo) more experimental than the first instalment of the series. Master Chief got a bit drier and I missed some insight into the covenant POV but generally it was a solid transition from Halo 1 to 2 and I think I might read one more!

I skipped the Flood on accident but I didn't even notice because it takes place after the first game. It was pretty good, I preferred the first one though.
