Can't believe a Novella like this can be sooooooo gooooooooood! Ugh, WHY DID GABE HAVE TO DIE!?!?!
And can we talk about how we got a glimpse of Liam's parents!? Madness. Just madness. Gabe didn't deserve to die after what he went through and how much he helped Zu and even Bryson.

What a shocking and enjoyable novella. I really liked it, though kind of heartbreaking...
It was really nice knowing what was going on with Zu

WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED? Someone please tell me how Alexandra Bracken managed to get me so attached to a character I just met, and the proceed to KILL THEM FROM THE FIRST PERSON?
Obviously, this is a novella. But this is no ordinary novella. This particular one punched me in the face (with a fist full of feelings, of course) even though I've read the original series and KNEW what was going to happen.
It follows Gabe, an adult looking to be hired as a skip tracer, as he searches for kids to bring to the authorities. All of a sudden he stumbles upon Zu, the beloved Yellow from the first book in the series.
I loved Gabe! I loved that he tried so hard not to be such a softie, but that didn't really work out for him. I tend to fall in love with all Bracken's characters, though...
Unfortunately, I'm afraid I can't give too much away about this story, but I do recommend reading the original series, which begins with [b:The Darkest Minds|10576365|The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1)|Alexandra Bracken|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1343178841s/10576365.jpg|15483434]. I promise you will not be disappointed with Bracken's writing; it is one of my favorite things to fangirl about. If you decide to take on this amazing adventure, good luck. The journey is hard, but the view is so worth it in the end.

I found it slow, and I couldn't get involved with the character, but what I do loved was see a little more of Zu, she is just adorable, and so strong that I just love her, so much.

Cute. Gives some answers to a few questions and I so hope the rest of the answers are in the second book! It's really only like 78 pages but has like the first chapter or two from the second book in it. I think it was worth the couple dollars to read! See how everyone on the outside sees the kids.
