Love the show so had to check out the comic and love it too. Wish there was more then one! Can’t wait for more. The show is good but I like how the comic is centered more around the mom than Dion. It’s an interesting POV.

I saw on Tumblr a post about this graphic novel and how it's going to be a new Netflix Original series and after watching the trailer, I was intrigued!

These 26 pages were definitely not enough to satisfy my interest in this story. I want and need more of it!!

The art is amazing. Just right up my alley, style-wise.

What I got to see of the characters, Nicole and Mark, was promising. I liked their banter, their fun times together and I really, really want to know how it's going to continue.

I'm going to stay updated on this one!

This first issue is available FREE at

I love the concept of this book, the story of a single mom raising a boy with super powers, and the first issue is well-executed, both in the writing and the art.

I think it's interesting that the main character, Nicole is "normal," by which I mean, she's not a genius, not super-powered, and expresses her gender and femininity according to the social norm. I guess some people might think that this is a weird observation, but in comics (which until recently consisted of a very niche readership), the protagonists, especially female ones, are usually characterized by a sense of not fitting into societal norms. Ironically, this comic may break the mold by telling the story of an ordinary woman dealing with the extraordinary/showing the extraordinary strength of the Martha Kents and Aunt Mays, rather than a superpowered character reflecting universal truths about us ordinary mortals.

P.S. Yes, you saw that right. The main character is a BLACK MOM.

I love the backing this one on Kickstarter, and I loved the book trailer they did for it. Even if this was a rather normal original story issue, I'm wanting so much more and so many more issues. I can't wait for that to be a thing that exists in the world. A person of color, single working mom's story about raising a superhero son from birth and what that means and looks like. So much of that just hits every buzzer I want to see more of.

Love the drawings and the colors a lot
I was enjoying what I was reading, it was over too soon
comics always feel too short.

I read the first issue in preparation for the netflix series coming this friday. This was more of a teaser than a full story as its only one issue. I enjoyed and am even more excited for the show!!
