Well, well, well what do we have here?

When I saw the teasers for the re-release of this series, I was drawn to the mysterious sex on a stick that seemed to represent Jett. The man, the club, the girls...It was enticing, intriguing.

I started Bourbon Sins and wasn't sure. I try not to be judgemental but the opening caught me off guard. I read the blurb. I knew where they were coming from but it took an adjustment period. Boy, am I glad I stuck it out.

I have never considered selling my body to make ends meet. I couldn't even process that thought. I'm not a stranger to idiots asking but I could never consider it. So Goldie is a perplexing person to me...

Trying to understand, I see that it's not a choice but a method of survival. I think that's how I was able to connect to someone I never would have otherwise. Jett though....(Shaking my head)

Jett will drive you nuts. You will see. Rules, behavior, and etiquette drive the club. Jett rules the club. Kace runs it. And there's another thing...

Two ridiculously gorgeous pieces of man candy. Choices are not an option. Looking but not touching heightens everything. Gorgeous women flaunting their bodies. Being turned on by the pictures of seduction, sex, and blazing lust, Meghan Quinn can make you feel the sin and debauchery of New Orleans without leaving your chair. Lounging at home you can taste the lust. You will feel the brazen desire. You will get worked up, turned on, and twisted out. The question is...

Are you worthy of being a Jett Girl?

I sure hope I am.

This book was pretty interesting. It follows Goldie, a
girl who was working at a strip club. She captures Jett’s attention and is invited to join his gentlemen’s club wherein the women perform erotic dances but the patrons cannot touch them.

By joining the club, she has a roof over her head, food, stability, safety. Jett even lets the women earn an education so they’ll be set for when they leave his club. Of course, he sleeps with them but only with their consent (so they can refuse him if they wish).

Of course, there are twists! The man Goldie was sleeping with (for money) prior to meeting Jett didn’t want to lose her to Jett’s club. But his significance is so much more than just the other man.

Kace, Jett’s friend and the guy who watches over the Jett Girls, is a mystery. He has some dark secrets hidden.

The book didn’t end on a cliffhanger, but the unanswered questions I had kept me hooked and excited to read the next book in the series.

So I’ll start off by saying I am NOT a 50 shades fan. So when I was told this book was 50 shades ISH I was concerned. But I actually really ended up like it! It was still dominatrix y but way less kinky / more like typical MQ sex scenes just with asking for submission first.

I felt like his chemistry was better with the side character Kace and Goldie than Goldie and Jett. But Goldie is turned on by anything that moves so it was hard for me to feel chemistry on her end very well at all. I also found myself MUCH more attracted to Kace. I was secretly hoping he would become the main character even though I knew it wouldn’t happen. I’m curious to see how things play out with him going forward.

I loved the New Orleans setting especially since I’ve been there so I could picture everything well!

The only thing that REALLY bugged me was the pet names. Kitten is STUPID AF and “little one” sounds like you are talking to a child.

I wanted to love this book. It started out great. I think this is a book you either love or hate. Sadly, I didn’t love it. I did love Kase. I may have to try to read his book.
