This was deeply disturbing and haunting but so incredibly well written! The author did an amazing job of creating an unsettling setting and creating characters that interest you and break your heart.

My only issue is that this book is in a first person point of view from the main character's perspective who has never gone to school and is mentioned as not being very intelligent - yet the writing in the book is so beautiful and detailed with big words I had to search (lol) which kind of took away from the main characters POV as it wasn't aligned with how she was described

Jesus fucking christ. Mind the warnings. This book is cruel and it goes places I didn't want it to go. I'm not quite sure if Aoileann is just that much of an unreliable narrator or if every single person in this story apart from Rachel are all just that horrible.

Fantastic story, I loved it, it made me want to throw up.

Words that come to mind to describe Where I End: twisted, gross, disturbing, complicated, unsettling, manipulative. I loved it. This tale weaves together a horrible, isolated setting with superstitious islanders, a truly twisted ‘family’ with a mysterious past, the effects of motherhood, and one’s descent into madness and obsession. The writing was visceral and made me feel every word. White does an amazing job at building up truly unlikeable characters. I honestly have no idea how someone can come up with a story like this. I had no idea what was going to happen in it, and while I thought the ending was slightly rushed I really enjoyed the experience of reading this book and I think it’ll stay with me for a long time.
