Another excellent book in the Mages of the Wheel series.

The author, again, creates strong characters and sprinkles the dialogs with lots of banter and wit.

I have never seen better written female characters than the ones in this series. Relatable, strong, far from annoying and more - I'm intrigued and will definitely read the next installment.

The magic system remains intriguing, and I liked some aspects of the romance—their teasing dynamic was very fun, for example. Other aspects of the romance bugged me (I have decided the “giant man + tiny woman” trope is a personal pet peeve), as did some of the editing.

All that said, I am feeling more invested in seeing this series through!
