Was it good? I think so. Was it brilliant? I don't know. It was elegant. It was deep. I will read more Brautigan, perhaps, and decide.

Such a beautiful and haunting introduction. I've re-read it several times.
As for the text that follows, Brautigan's meandering runs the full breadth of the distance between charmingly illuminating and heavy-handed inelegance, as here:

She answered the telephone with a voice that was very delicate, a gentleness that had never been in her voice before. She sounded as if she had to walk across a bridge to use the telephone or maybe the telephone was at one end of the bridge and she was at the other end, using it across the distance with an extension cord of dying.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that her voice was gently clear like a small candle burning in an immense darkened cathedral built for a religion that was never finalized, so no worship ever took place in there.

Stunning. Honest. Perceptive.
A Swan Song of sorts.
Strongly recommend.

Hatrı sayılır Brautigan okuru olmama mağlubiyeti ve mahcubiyeti var üzerimde, sevenlerinin yüreğine işleyen her cümleyi dümdüz okuyup geçmişim.

Şu an olmadı ama belki günün birinde.

A disappointing read. Not much happens in a rather ramshackle way, with very few gems of phrase to make it worth the read.

What a strange little book. It's a nice companion, though, and its exploration of time strikes Benjaminian tones in the best way. I will definitely reread this one.
