What a wild ride, I really enjoyed the combat scenes in this book, they were truly tense and dangerous. However, I felt there was too many point of view characters, I don't remember everyone from the first book and some real side characters take up significant page time and I just don't remember them. You do get little hints like, "hey I haven't seen you since the one night in that pub," which is sometimes helpful, but there is just too many characters and some of their scenes seemed unnecessary. Also, in the middle of the book the theme of, there's always a ray of light in the darkness, was a little heavy handed and tiring. That being said, none of the pov's are bad, there is just too many. However, Calen's journey in this book is a real highlight, and I liked Dayne's pov's, and there's definitely a lot of good stuff in this book, I am hyped for the next one and can't wait to see where this all ends up.
