I'm not sure if it was the book or life just getting too busy, but I felt there were moments when this novel felt a bit drawn out, whereas I did not feel that way about the first of the series. Or perhaps it was the sheer barrage of turmoil with no let-up that made me hesitate to give a 5/5 on this one. (However, I do believe that may also have been the point.) Overall, still a spectacular novel!
