I've become a massive fan of Ryan Cahill over the last 6 months and The Bound and Broken is on its way to being one of my favourite series. I absolutely loved the first book in the series but of Darkness and Light was just beyond brilliant. It's a doorstop of a book with over 800 pages but its also super fast paced and I found myself flying through the last 30/40% of it. There is an absolute tonne going on at once but the story comes together so well and it's pretty easy to follow everyone's journeys. There's also an insane amount of action that had some serious goosebumps moments. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books!

This 900 page brick flew by so fast. The pacing is so much better in this book and the addition of new POVs just eat…. Ryan takes the worldbuilding and lore to the next level. This book feels way more epic and expansive than Of Blood and Fire. The stakes are higher and I felt like the character arcs were really well done. There’s anguish, loss, love, and so much. He stepped it up in the prose department too, there’s a lot of quotes that I really like. I just had a really good time! My favorite thing is seeing seeds planted and when a reveal happens… being able to clock it. 😼
