Totally fine book. Not upset I read, probably wouldn't read again. I feel like the ending happened both too slowly and too quickly but I found the premise interesting overall.

The book takes a while to hit its stride, with prose so bland and lacking in description it's actually detrimental to the emotional scenes. Character voices are fairly homogeneous as well. It improves slightly about halfway through, and the story as a whole is quite entertaining if the occult fits your vibes.
