book club 2.0 June 2023 selection. what a strange book. But then people are strange so I guess that explains it. Tiffany/Blandine lives in an apartment in Vacca Vale, IN with three young men who were also in foster care at the same time as Blandine. They have all just aged out. This story follows several people who live in the Rabbit Hutch. An affordable housing apartment complex called La Lapiniere. The events take place during one week in the summer. There are two other characters followed that do not live in the apartments, James Yager, a music teacher at Tiffany/Blandine's school and Moses Robert Blitz. He is the son of a recently deceased former child actress, Elsie Jane Blitz. Moses disagrees with the obituary that his mother wrote herself and when he comments on the facts, his post is deleted by the obit screening company, Restinpeace.com. There is an older couple who have been married 56 years and down on their luck most of the time, a young couple where the new mom is afraid of her child's eyes, the lady, Joan, who works at Restinpeace. all of the lives gently and not so gently jumble together and finally by the end we see how and why some of them connect. so many of the characters have a "stream of consciousness" thing going on. We all have crazy and bizarre thoughts but probably not as often and steadily as these characters.

I have no idea what I read. The audiobook was fantastically done, but there's no way I can recommend it bc of the sheer amount of characters and POV's. I may have gotten more out of it if I had the physical book in front of me to follow along with. It was weird, which I should love but even with the beautiful writing and narration, I was so bored the entire time.
