Such a fun murder mystery. Hard to believe it's almost 50 years old! Re-reading it because 7th grade is using it for a read aloud in the fall. I listened to the book this time and thought it was hard to keep the characters straight, I liked the print version better.

This was a favorite book of mine about 40 years ago. I had read it several times when I was about 10 years old. At the time it seemed to me like an adult book, even though now I guess it’s considered YA. I love how the author didn’t try to “dumb it down” for kids. It truly still reads like a wonderful character-ran mystery book. It may be the first time I’ve read it since then, but it will not be the last!

I was obsessed with this book as a kid, and I love it even more as an adult. It’s funny how many things that had to have gone over my head in this book when I read it 15+ years ago. 10/10 highly recommend revisiting your old childhood favorites…this one especially!
