absolutely beautiful, seriously the tears are real and omg baby Susake
To be honest, after reading the little dedication on the first page I thought I was gonna give this one five stars with my eyes closed, and even though I liked it, I'm sad to say that isn't the case. Don't get me wrong, I loved seeing Naruto's mom, and the whole thing in the past was pretty great, getting here and there little nods to stuff we already knew and getting to see the whole story and how some characters were 16 years ago, and while by the end I was in tears I didn't loved it; I just had this sense of dread (probably due to knowing how everything was gonna turn out) that kept me from really enjoying everything.
Anyway, Minato and Kushina deserved so much better.

We finally get to learn about what happened 16 years ago to Naruto when he was born and let me tell you it is a tearjerker (well to me it is). But it also shows that no matter where your loved ones are they will always still love you no matter what!!! This series man is so good!!!!
I loved the waterfall of truth sequence. We all have a bit of negativity hidden in our hearts, be it anger, resentment, hatred, ego, etc. This volume taught me that accepting and acknowledging that ugly part is important to eradicate it.

I am sad that the waterfall of truth episode ended so soon. Felt the sudden realisation of truth by Naruto to be too quick.
Meeting Kushina was unexpected but getting to know the entire story was not at all expected.
Loved the cross over between Kushina and Mommy Uchiha . Loved baby Itachi.
Cannot wrap up my head round the idea of using a lady as a jinchuriki and then letting her experience something that is definitely a recipe for disaster.
The writer kind of tried to explain why Naruto was chosen.
Didnot like the dialogue in which the father stresses on the woman to at least give him a grandchild before she does something reckless.
Maybe I am too immatured to accept the basic evolutionary need as of now.

I always knew that when I got to this specific section of the series that it would be very heart-touching. It turned out to be everything I expected and so much more.
One of the things that I really enjoy about the Naruto series is that despite it's length, it is wonderfully written and does not fill its reader with a never-ending array of fillers. I have experienced lots of "fillery" feelings from other series that have a consistent base of flashbacks. But with Naruto those flashbacks almost always add an element of depth to the characters that just make you respect and admire them even more.
Kishimoto-san does a wonderful job in explaining how Naruto was brought into the world and what inevitably happened to his parents. It held me at the edge of my seat, with my heart in pieces at the very end. This was one of the most emotionally riveting scenes I have read in manga in a long time. Five out of five, fully deserving stars for volume 53.
