This book was such a wild ride that I am still vascillating between 3 and 4 stars -- let's just call it a solid 3.5. Reading Sally Thorne's twific before this was so interesting because you can see the fixation on ideas of hatred and obsession and twisted relationships (although the twific is much darker about it) and you can also see definite improvements in her prose and flow as a writer. I started out neutral on the prose (and kind of disliked the twific's prose at times, on a straightforward mechanical level) but I do think it's doing something clever with a heroine who is completely unhinged & deranged a lot of the time and the stripped-back simple way her inner monologue is nevertheless communicated to us. Idk!! I think my opinion might go up on a reread. I do think the love interest's behaviour edges kind of close to the creepy stalker line, but the heroine is so insane also that it kind of works... A fun experience. I do NOT recommend the film.

At first, the story seems interesting when the world and the characters are introduced but after a few chapters, I tried to rush with it since I was bored by their useless hating/mind games. Overall, the story is not that gripping!
