3 stars. first book of 2022!!! pretty cliché enemies to lovers novel, overall I thought it was kinda bland. there’s definitely cute moments and I commend Sally Thorne for her ability to write lovable, easy-to-root-for characters, but if you’re looking for an outstanding romance novel with depth and spontaneity, this isn’t the one to read.

Second time reading and I still love this book so much.
i went into this one with no expectations because i didn't want the hype it gets to bias my opinion in any way. this book gets SO much hype and that's why i put off reading it for as long as i did, but now i can definitely say that this one is worth the hype. it was such a quick and easy read!! i read most of it in two days because i was loving it so much and couldn't put it down. the banter between lucy and josh was done so well and the reader is able to tell that they like each other even though they don't realize it. and that moment when they finally realize they have feelings for each other is one i wish i could read for the first time again (honestly i wish i could read the whole book for the first time again). i was very happy with the ending (the epilogue!!!!!!) and felt like i got the closure i wanted with this book and these characters. definitely recommend this one!
(p.s. if you can get the version with the epilogue i would highly recommend doing that because the epilogue is chef's kiss)
