Hickman’s Avengers run is one of my favorite runs of all time. That said, I don’t think it’s without its flaws. The Time Runs Out section, the lead up to Secret Wars is some of my favorite stuff, particularly New Avengers, but it also feels very rushed, particularly Avengers. This arc by Frank Barbiere and Marco Checchetto provides some much needed, character focused stories. Barbiere keeps the tone relatively consistent with Spencer and Hickman, and Checchetto’s work is stellar. I still wish there had been more though.

All together this series feels pretty crucial to Hickman’s run. I highly recommend it for anyone doing a reread in the future.

The only actual volume that haa real ties to the Hickman Avengers run. And it's...fine. Totally unnecessary.

This is the type of book that burns readers out on super hero comics. It's yet another version of the Avengers, this one composed of characters I never heard of (granted, that's more on me than them). Thy're interesting enough, but again, I'm not sure what this adds to the Secret Wars build-up.
