How can you DISLIKE the words and wisdom of Mother Teresa? Definitely what I expected, and not an exceptionally challenging read, but it presents us with extreme challenges to our self-centered world views. If you're looking for a way to make yourself want to go out and help your neighbor, look no further. If you're sick of peace and justice, well, keep this one on the shelf.

Though simple, it is VERY encouraging. I loved it.

I was disappointed. Although the stories for the sections theme it kind of lacked structure. I’d prefer that it read like a typical biography and she shared her insight throughout book. Stories too random for me. This book is more appropriate if you want to study life of Mother Teresa

What an incredible woman! Through this compilation of her words, a true understanding of her selflessness and dedication to the poor becomes clear. Moving and convicting, this book captures Mother Theresa’s beliefs, views, and thoughts on a Christian life of charity.

This is simple and straightforward spiritual reading from a saint who truly lived out the teachings of Jesus Christ. In short sections, Mother Teresa lays out her approaches to everything from the church to the family and urges her readers to pray, love, and live in such a way that we might follow her to heaven. I always knew who Mother Teresa was growing up, but this book gave me a much more profound appreciation for her life and work. I'll be praying for her intercession more often from now on!

So good to spend time with her thoughts. Here are a couple I really want to remember:

Do not pursue spectacular deeds. We must deliberately renounce all desires to see the fruit of our labor, doing all we can as best we can, leaving the rest in the hands of God. What matters is the gift of yourself, the degree of love that you put into each one of your actions.

The work of moral rearmament is carried out with discretion and love. The more discrete, the more penetrating it will be. You give it to others, and it is they who absorb it.

Poverty doesn't only consist of being hungry for bread, but rather it is a tremendous hunger for human dignity.
