More like 4.5 stars.

This was my first foray into the Sailor Moon world. I’m not sure what I got myself into being that I'm not a comic / manga fan. I’m barely an anime fan (Hayao Miyazaki obsessed though). I’m more of a horror, supernatural graphic novel kind of fan. But my niece wanted this really bad for Christmas and I thought it would be cool to read something together. I’m so glad I did.

It took me a bit to get used to considering it reads back to front and right to left as standard for Japanese works. Usagi Chan was also a character I wasn’t too impressed with even when she became Sailor Moon. She cries way too easily and didn’t take things seriously at all. But then she grew on me and I couldn’t put it down. I started out loving Sailor Mercury, but then my favorite became Sailor Jupiter for obvious reasons as being the rebel, strong one. She's like Thor, but better. Lol.

The Eternal Edition is beautifully drawn and even though some of the translations don’t always flow, I definitely enjoyed it and want to read more!

It’s a classic.
The acts went pretty fast, but altogether it was a decently long read.
I’m anticipating more from the following volumes. Especially of Usagi and Mamaru’s love story!

What a delight to return to this special moment from my childhood!

I was pleased as always by the sailor scouts' peculiar blend of boy-craziness, feminism, and fashion sense. And even in this first volume, as Usagi floats start eyed after every pretty girl she meets, you can see why this series became a favourite of queer readers.

This volume starts at the beginning where Usagi meets Luna to a cliffhanger where the Sailor Moon is rescue by the mysterious Sailor V.
